Grant Aid to Support Home Repairs for South Beloit Residents

Illinois Home Improvement Grants

South Beloit, a city nestled in Illinois, has recently been the recipient of a generous $300,000 grant. This grant has been provided by the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) and aims to support the Home Repair and Accessibility Program, which is intended to benefit low-income homeowners in need of essential home repairs.

The mayor of South Beloit, Tom Fitzgerald, explained the significance of this grant. “The Home Repair and Accessibility Program will provide individual homeowners with up to $45,000 in forgivable assistance to make crucial repairs and improvements for accessibility,” he said. Fitzgerald emphasized the importance of maintaining the health and safety of South Beloit residents and expressed his gratitude to the IHDA for providing the grant that would assist the citizens in achieving this.

The Home Repair and Accessibility Program serves as a source of funding for municipalities and community-based organizations. These entities then administer the loans, overseeing the distribution of funds to homeowners in need. Repairs that are covered under the program encompass a wide range, including roofing, flooring, electrical work, plumbing, siding, and other tasks that contribute to the removal of health and safety hazards within a property.
