Tarrant County Residents Can Get Help with Delinquent Property Taxes
Tarrant County residents can get financial assistance from the Texas Homeowner Assistance Fund Program with their delinquent property taxes. This program, administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, is part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 is a $1.9 trillion coronavirus rescue plan aimed at assisting the US in recovering from the devastating economic and health repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Qualifying homeowners can apply for up to $25,000.00 that can cover delinquent property taxes and mortgage payments.
“The release of these funds is very timely and has already helped taxpayers in a test county in Texas, and Tarrant is an early adopter to benefit our taxpayers,” Wendy Burgess, Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector said.
