Highline Electric Association (HEA) provides incentives for their small business and residential customers to purchase and install renewable energy systems. Rebates are available for qualified small wind and photovoltaic (PV) systems. Applicants are required to have an energy audit conducted on their homes and facilities before a rebate can be awarded. Applicants must also present permitting documentation before and after the system is installed. And vendors must provide the applicant with a detailed payback analysis to ensure the customer has realistic expectations for the savings their systems will realize.
These incentives can be combined with the rebajas offered by the state of Colorado. Customers who participate in this program will retain ownership of the renewable energy credits (RECs) associated with the electricity their systems produce, but they may sign a contract with the utility to sell their RECs to HEA.
Participants must meet additional requirements for both the utility rebate and the state rebate, which can be found at the website above.
