Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation provides low-interest loans to help its residential customers install new, energy efficient heat pumps in their homes. Qualifying heat pumps must be a minimum 13 SEER package or 13 SEER split with HSPF 7.7 or higher rating. The loans have an 8% interest rate and can be up to $10,000. The loan can have up to a 10-year term with no penalty for early payoff. To qualify for MTEMC’s Heat Pump Program, applicants must be the owner of the home and property where the heat pump is to be located and pass an independent credit review. MTEMC homeonwners installing heat pumps may also qualify for a $100 incentive for replacing gas with 13 SEER/HSPF 7.7 or greater electric or dual-fuel heat pump (1 incentive per dwelling)
