Descripción
This competitive research program, administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), focuses on product and technology development as opposed to the installation of individual renewable-energy systems. The program involves a multi-step approach to assist companies in the development, testing and commercialization of renewable-energy technologies that will be manufactured in New York and the implementation of innovative business models to increase market penetration. Funding levels vary according to the stage of product development. Projects are selected, in part, based on the relative likelihood that a technology will be commercially competitive in the near term, and based on the ability of the company to reach specific performance and quality milestones.
Eligible technologies include solar thermal electric, photovoltaics, hydropower, alternative fuels, wind, landfill gas, and biomass. Information pertaining to current and upcoming funding opportunities from NYSERDA is available at the web site shown above.
