In September 2007, the Plano City Council directed the City Manager to enter into a contract for the purchase of $14,458 worth of renewable energy credits (RECs) for the 2008 calendar year. This purchase is expected to comprise approximately 5% of the electricity demand from city-owned facilities during 2008.
