Progress Energy offers a variety of incentives for their Florida residential customers to save energy in their homes. A Progress Energy Home Energy Check, within the past 24 months, is a prerequisite to qualifying for all Progress Energy incentives. The energy expert performing the free energy analysis will tell the customers what rebates they are eligible for. Rebates are available for injected wall foam and attic insulation, duct testing and duct repair, heat pumps and air conditioning units, reflective roof material, and high performance replacement windows, window films, and window screens. All materials and equipment must meet specific energy efficiency standards listed on the program website. The heat pump, air conditioner, and roofing rebates are only available for homes that have electric air conditioning and/or electric heating throughout the entire house.
