Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) has solutions to help businesses build a new facility, renovate an existing building, or replace aging inefficient equipment or systems. SMECO offers incentives on energy-efficient equipment to help upgrade lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and commercial refrigeration equipment. SMECO also offers customized incentives that include projects involving chillers, energy management systems, compressed air systems, non-HVAC variable frequency drives, process equipment and more. SMECO’s programs provide incentives and technical services for projects that involve the following: retrofitting existing inefficient equipment, new construction, major renovation or remodeling, new equipment purchases, and end-of-life equipment replacements.
