These States Are Giving Stimulus Checks in June

Stimulus Checks

Additional relief checks will be provided in June to Maine and New Mexico residents. Other states haven’t decided on their stimulus checks, but almost all of them have the Homeowner Assistance Programs running. The American Rescue Plan of 2021 covered these funds, which supplied money to every state for programs to assist residents affected by Covid-19.

Stimulus Checks Maine

Residents in Maine who have filed for the 2021 state income tax returns by October 31 are eligible for the $850.00 relief checks the state provides. Their income must be less than $100,000.00 for those filing as single, $150,000.00 for a head of household, and $200,000.00 for couples filing jointly. Estimations show that over 858,000 residents could benefit from these funds. These payments can be utilized to assist residents with rising prices as a result of current inflation, benefiting the Maine economy directly. These payments are also available to people who receive social security and/or supplemental security income (SSI). If two people file jointly and their tax returns meet the relief payment requirements, they will each receive an $850.00 relief check, totaling $1,700.00 in relief. Maine taxpayers can find free tax help by going to www.cashmaine.org, calling 2-1-1, or going to 211maine.org. Visit the State’s official website for further information.

Stimulus Checks New Mexico

Similar tax rebates will also be available in New Mexico to residents who have filed their income tax returns by May 31. They will provide $250.00 for single filers and $500.00 for joint filers. Their income must be less than $75,000.00 for those filing as single, $150,000.00 for a head of household, and $150,000.00 for couples filing jointly. These rebates will be automatically sent in June and August 2022, without applications necessary. In the same bill that permitted the rebates, $20 million was put aside for economic relief payments to New Mexicans who do not file state income taxes due to their income levels. More information on these rebates and relief payments, as well as future stimulus checks in New Mexico, is available at tax.newmexico.gov.

“This summer we’ll be returning hundreds of millions of dollars in relief to families around New Mexico, protecting their paychecks and helping them cope with the rising prices of gas, groceries, and other household expenses,” said Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.
