The Wyoming Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) Program is taking action to support eligible homeowners in the state by providing financial assistance through its services. The program will be hosting three virtual town halls to discuss how eligible homeowners can apply for HAF services, with a particular focus on the new service that offers up to three consecutive months of forward mortgage payments. These virtual town halls will be held on Thursday, March 9 at 2 P.M., Monday, March 13 at 12:30 P.M., and Tuesday, March 14.

The HAF Program began accepting forward mortgage applications on February 27, 2023. Under this program, eligible homeowners can receive up to $17,000 in assistance as a one-time award to pay for past-due payments and up to three consecutive months of forward mortgage payments. This award is directly paid to a servicer or vendor on behalf of an eligible homeowner.

The HAF Program offers assistance to eligible homeowners in the following areas:

  1. Mortgage Delinquency: This service provides financial assistance to help reinstate a mortgage or to pay other housing-related costs related to a period of forbearance, delinquency, or default.
  2. Forward Mortgage Payments: The program offers up to three consecutive months of forward mortgage payments to eligible homeowners. Delinquencies will be prioritized over forward mortgage payments.
  3. Past Due Utility Payments: Eligible expenses include electricity, energy costs (fuel, oil & propane), water, and sewer. Internet costs are not an eligible expense.
  4. Past Due Housing-Related Bills: This service provides assistance with past due property taxes, homeowners insurance, or homeowner association dues.
