Governor Wolf Announces More Than $8.2 Million to Support Affordable Housing in 15 Counties
Governor Tom Wolf announced that the Pennsylvania HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) will distribute $8,210,240.00 in funding to support affordable housing in Butler, Clarion, Clearfield, Columbia, Crawford, Franklin, Fulton, Indiana, Lancaster, Lawrence, Lebanon, Luzerne, Mercer, Montgomery, and Perry counties. The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) gets HOME program funds from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the annual entitlement appropriation process. These funds can be used in a variety of ways to address urgent housing needs, including market-oriented measures that provide options such as homeownership or rental activities to help rehabilitate neighborhoods with new investment.

“Pennsylvanians should not have to choose between paying for basic necessities or needed home repairs to ensure the safety of their loved ones,” said Gov. Wolf. “The HOME program provides low-income individuals with access to the affordable, safe, and reliable housing they and their families deserve.”
The following is a list of the most recent HOME funding awards.
Butler County
In collaboration with the Butler Redevelopment Authority, the Metropolis of Butler received $200,000.00 for present owner-occupied homes.
Clarion County
Clarion County received $500,000.00 in cooperation with the Clarion County Dwellings and Group Growth Company for present owner-occupied housing.
Clearfield County
Clearfield County will receive $288,453.00 in cooperation with the Clearfield County Group Growth workplace for present owner-occupied dwellings.
Columbia County
In collaboration with the Columbia County Redevelopment Authority, $750,000.00 was awarded to Columbia County for current owner-occupied homes.
Crawford County
In collaboration with the Titusville Redevelopment Authority, the Metropolis of Titusville received $750,000.00 for present owner-occupied homes.
Franklin County
In collaboration with Luminest, Chambersburg Borough will receive $250,000.00 for current owner-occupied dwellings.
Fulton County
In collaboration with the Middle for Group Motion, Fulton County will receive $200,000.00 for current owner-occupied homes.
Indiana County
In collaboration with the Indiana County Workplace of Planning and Growth, Indiana County will receive $500,000.00 for current owner-occupied homes.
Lancaster County
In collaboration with the Spanish American Civic Association Growth Company, the City of Lancaster awarded $1,075,000.00 to a first-time homebuyer.
Lawrence County
In collaboration with the Lawrence County Group Motion Partnership, $750,000.00 was awarded to Lawrence County for current owner-occupied homes.
In collaboration with the Lawrence County Group Motion Partnership, Union Township will receive $500,000.00 for current owner-occupied homes.
Lebanon County
In collaboration with the Lebanon County Housing Authority, the Housing Growth Company of Lebanon County, the Palmyra Space Interfaith Housing Council, and Brick Property Companies, Lebanon County received $696,787.00 for rental housing.
Luzerne County
$300,000.00 to the Metropolis of Nanticoke for homebuyer help.
Mercer County
In collaboration with the Lawrence County Group Motion Partnership, the Metropolis of Hermitage received $600,000.00 for current owner-occupied homes.
Montgomery County
In collaboration with the Borough of Conshohocken Group Growth Division, $350,000.00 was awarded to the Borough of Conshohocken for current owner-occupied homes.
Perry County
In collaboration with the SEDA-Council of Governments, Perry County will receive $500,000.00 for current owner-occupied housing.
Eligible applicants for the Pennsylvania HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds are units of local government, including cities, towns, counties, boroughs, and townships. Non-profit organizations, community development, or community housing development corporations may not apply directly to DCED for HOME funding, however, an eligible HOME applicant may apply for funding on behalf of the non-profit organization or developer.
