Kaanapali Hosts Weekend Mortgage Assistance Event
Kaanapali, Hawaii State is stepping up to lend a helping hand to those affected by the Maui wildfires, offering a two-day mortgage assistance extravaganza. Scheduled for today and Saturday, this critical event is designed to offer financial relief and expert advice to struggling homeowners and business proprietors.
Hosted by the state’s Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Division of Financial Institutions, the gathering takes place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on both days. It’s all happening at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa’s Monarchy ballrooms 1 and 2, which you may recognize as the former hub for the American Red Cross Family Assistance Center.
This event isn’t just your run-of-the-mill information session. It’s an invaluable opportunity to engage in one-on-one consultations with representatives from various financial institutions and mortgage servicers. These industry professionals will be on hand to discuss all the options available to you, from loan modifications to refinance possibilities. But that’s not all. The event also features community and federal housing counselors, as well as representatives from multiple organizations, who will offer additional insights into alternative solutions for keeping your home.
Hawaii Banking Commissioner, Iris Ikeda, highlighted the importance of this face-to-face engagement. In a news release on Thursday, she stated, “We believe the face-to-face interaction with our banks and servicers will provide useful information as we work toward recovery.” She also emphasized the timely nature of the event, adding, “This gathering will offer homeowners an array of options before the looming deadline of the 90-day forbearance period, which is set to expire in December 2023.”
So, if you’re grappling with mortgage worries in the wake of the Maui wildfires, make your way to this essential event. The guidance you’ll receive could be your first step on the road to financial recovery.
