Description
The City of Ashland Conservation District offers a wide variety of incentives for residential customers to increase the energy efficiency of eligible homes, or build new homes that meet efficient design standards. Ranging rebates are available for energy efficient dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators, and electric water heaters. Appliances must be ENERGY STAR certified. State tax credits are also available. Interested customers should see the specific application forms, for more information about these appliance rebates.
Ashland Conservation District also encourages energy efficiency within the residential sector through the Energy Conservation Programs. Among the services offered through these programs, residents with electric heat can have a Home Energy Analysis, an Air Leakage Test and a Duct System Analysis all performed for free. Customers with gas heat can have these tests conducted, but have to pay $50 to $100 for each one. Rebates are also offered on weatherization measures and qualifying heat pumps. Heat pumps must be installed and commissioned by a heating contractor on the City’s approved list. To qualify for weatherization rebates, customers must heat with electricity from the City of Ashland. For more information on these residential energy conservation programs, visit the program web site.
Ashland Electric Utility also offers an Indoor Water Analysis and rebates for water efficient toilets and removing wood stoves. Customers should consult the program web site for details.
