Description
Utah’s Clean Fuel Grant Program provides grants to local governments and businesses for the purchase of clean fuel vehicles and refueling infrastructure.
Grant limits are 50 percent of incremental cost up to $3,000 for OEMs and 50 percent of after-market conversion cost up to $2,500, less the amount of the Utah tax credit. The grants are available to 10 vehicles per fleet per year.
To receive a grant, a Utah Clean Fuel Grant and Loan Program application must be completed, signed, and submitted to the Utah Energy Office. The recipient must agree to the following requirements:
– agree to use the clean fuel a minimum of 70 percent of the vehicle miles traveled;
– allow inspections of completed conversions, OEM vehicles purchased and refueling equipment;
– notify the Program Manager of anticipated or planned vehicle turnover if this should occur before the repayment period ends or within 3 years of date of grant award; and
– notify the Program Manager if the refueling equipment or vehicle becomes inoperable and agree to a remedy.
Grants can be filed on-line, in person, mailed, or faxed. The program Web site above provides directions for filing the application.
