Consumers Power, Inc. (CPI) offers rebates to its residential customers who install solar water heating systems or solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The rebate for solar water heaters is $500 for systems with a collector area greater than 31 square feet. Systems used for hot tubs or swimming pools are not eligible. The rebate for solar PV systems is $500 per kilowatt-DC (kW), with a maximum rebate for of $3,000.  Applications must be pre-approved by CPI.

To be eligible for the rebate, solar energy systems must be installed by a State of Oregon certified contractor and qualify for the State of Oregon tax credits.
