Dominion North Carolina Power offers a 5% discount on electric bills to residential customers who upgrade the efficiency of their homes. Some required improvements include:

• Increased levels of insulation in ceilings, walls and floors
• High efficiency heat pump(s) installed according to Energy Saver Home Plus guidelines
• Sealed ductwork
• High efficiency electric water heater
• Sealants around windows, doors, plumbing, electric, and other areas where air leakage may occur
• Insulated metal doors or solid wood doors with storm doors to reduce air infiltration
