Holy Cross offers one complimentary residential energy assessment within a three-year period for the same consumer at the same location. If such consumer requests an additional follow-up assessment for the same location within three years, they will be charged $150 for the additional assessment, payable in advance at the time of the energy assessment. In the event a consumer moves to a location that has previously had an energy assessment (within the three-year period), all assessment requests will first be handled via a phone call to share and explain energy assessment information on file and then, if warranted, an energy assessment may be provided at no cost to the consumer. During a residential energy assessment, consumers with electric water heaters may have their water heater wrapped by the energy assessor. If the water heater is not easily accessed at the time of the assessment, the energy assessor will leave the blanket for installation by the consumer. Blankets are provided at no cost to the consumer. The average time for a Holy Cross energy assessor to conduct an energy assessment is one hour.
