Description
The Minnesota Housing Finance Agency's (MHFA) Fix-up Fund provides low-interest financing for energy conservation and other basic improvements to residential, owner occupied properties. Beginning with Fix-up Fund loan commitments on September 30th, 2010, the U.S. Department of Energy and the Minnesota Department of Commerce have teamed together to offer $2,000,000 in Energy Saving Rebates, up to $10,000 per home, to homeowners replacing qualified energy efficient technologies. These rebates, in coordination with the loan program, reduce the cost for qualifying technologies between 25 and 35 percent. Note: There is a limit of one Energy Saver Rebate per household. Visit the MHFA website and the Energy Saving Rebates Information sheet for a detailed description on rebate eligibility, participant requirements and an overview of steps necessary for homeowners to apply for Energy Saving Rebates. Participating homeowners must submit the Energy Saver Rebate Application in coordination with the contractor hired to perform the energy efficient upgrades.
