Description
National Grid is committed to reducing peak electric demand on our system, and we need your help. By reducing electric use in the summer for a few hours during a few days per year we can reduce emissions, infrastructure costs, and utility prices. During periods of high energy demand, like exceptionally hot and humid summer days, the grid is sometimes stretched to its limit. The grid and the number and size of power plants have to be sized to meet this peak load. These events may last up to four hours, and occur between 10am and 8pm on weekdays. We can help you reduce energy use at these critical times – helping to reduce the size and cost of the utility infrastructure, and helping you to receive incentives.
