Description

The Sunna Project allows any member to suscribe to the solar community program. The subscription includes the allocation of energy produced by their subscriped panel(s) to offset  their monthly electric bill. The first panel is 410 – watts and costs $170, additional panels are $1,225 per panel. In addition a participating member in the Sunna Project must also participate in the 16-hour Storage Water Heater Program. Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric (SWCE) will give the participant a free 85 gallon or 105 gallon electric Marathon water heater along with a mixing valve in return for joining SWCE’s 16 Hour Water Heater Control Program. Members with an existing electric water heater on the 16 Hour Water Heater Control Program can take part in The Sunna Project, members would forfeit their monthly $10 credit they currently receive from SWCE for 10 years to be able to take part in The Sunna Project. Members are limited to subscribing to 20 panels or the equivalent number of panels that would produce their average annual energy use, whichever is less.
