$30,000 in Grants Awarded to Support Family Promise Rochester

Family Promise Rochester, based in Rochester, Minnesota, has announced the receipt of significant grants totaling $30,000. These grants are set to bolster the organization’s efforts in various crucial areas.

The Carl and Verna Schmidt Foundation of Rochester has generously provided $15,000 to support Family Promise Rochester’s general operating expenses. This funding will contribute to the organization’s day-to-day functions and ongoing initiatives.

Furthermore, the Rochester Area Foundation has allocated $10,000 to enhance Life Skill class programming offered by Family Promise Rochester. These programs play a vital role in empowering individuals and families facing homelessness with essential life skills.

In addition, the St. Paul and Minnesota Foundation have contributed $5,000, which will be allocated towards staff development, strategic planning, and grant writing services. This investment aims to strengthen the organization’s internal capacity and its ability to secure future funding opportunities.

Family Promise Rochester, formerly known as “IHN” or Interfaith Hospitality Network, is dedicated to assisting families experiencing homelessness. Their North Star House shelter provides a safe and supportive environment for families, allowing them to stay for up to 120 days as they work towards stability and self-sufficiency.
