Duke Energy and its Foundation are demonstrating their commitment to supporting veterans by contributing more than $56,000 to five organizations in Florida. These organizations focus on providing essential services such as career pathways, housing repairs, and unique assistance for veterans and their families. Over the past year, Duke Energy has dedicated over $290,000 to supporting various initiatives benefiting veterans.
Melissa Seixas, Duke Energy Florida state president, expressed the company’s pride in giving back to the military community, highlighting Duke Energy’s history of providing career opportunities to military personnel, including transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses. The contributions aim to bolster organizations that play a crucial role in delivering care, opportunities, and services to those who have selflessly served the nation.
One of the beneficiaries, Evergreen Life Services, operates the HEAVENDROPt program, benefiting both individuals with developmental disabilities and veterans with disabilities. She emphasized the collaboration as a testament to Duke Energy’s strong commitment to veterans and their dedication to promoting community inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The partnership reflects a collective effort to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those involved.
Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is another organization benefiting from Duke Energy’s contributions. The funds received will aid in significant repairs to two veteran homes in St. Petersburg. This support is provided at no cost to the homeowners, addressing urgent needs that impact the well-being of veterans and their families. Jose Garcia, the executive director of Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay, highlighted the collaboration with Duke Energy as an embodiment of unity, service, and community. Together, they aim to transform lives and contribute to building a brighter future for veterans.

The company’s support extends beyond financial contributions, emphasizing the importance of community collaboration in ensuring that every veteran has a safe and comfortable place to call home.
