Potential Home Grants for Eligible Chambersburg Borough Dwellers
In a significant development, Luminest Community Development is delighted to reveal that the Borough of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania has been awarded a Home Program Grant. To administer this exciting initiative, the Borough has decided to collaborate with Luminest, enabling vital home repairs for local residents to be conducted more seamlessly.
Under Luminest’s management, the Home Owner Rehabilitation program is set to offer invaluable aid to low and moderate-income residents of the Borough, providing both financial assistance and construction-related expertise for essential home repairs and improvements. Eligibility for this program is based on income, with homeowners earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) qualifying for assistance. In monetary terms, for a family of four, this AMI cap stands at $64,400.
The assistance offered through this program comes typically in the form of a 10-year forgivable loan, making it easier for eligible homeowners to afford necessary improvements and bring their homes up to code.
Luminest will not only be providing financial assistance but will also oversee the entire process of the Home Owner Rehabilitation program. This includes marketing initiatives, processing applications, managing intake, conducting inspections, generating work write-ups, and monitoring contracts. This will ensure a robust management system is developed and maintained to uphold compliance with the administrative requirements of the HOME program.
