Qualified households can seek a one-time grant of $2,000, applicable for both current and overdue payments on mortgages or rentals. Mayor Brian Poochigian expressed the significance of this financial aid, stating that the grant alleviates the burden on families, providing substantial relief and allowing them to redirect funds to other essential needs.
Visalia secured additional state funding due to the effective administration of the initial relief funds, enabling the extension of the assistance program into its third year. To qualify, applicants must have a household income at or below 80% of the area’s median.
