Chambersburg Borough Provides Home Grants to Qualifying

Luminest Community Development and the Borough of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania have teamed up to provide some much-needed home repairs for eligible residents in the area. Thanks to a Home Program Grant received by the borough, Luminest will manage the Home Owner Rehabilitation program to assist low and moderate-income residents with repairs and improvements to their homes.
The Home Owner Rehabilitation program will provide financial assistance and construction-related expertise to households with incomes up to 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) so they can make necessary capital improvements to their homes. This program will be especially beneficial to those who are struggling to correct code deficiencies and upgrade their homes. For a family of four, 80% of AMI is $64,400. Eligible homeowners would receive assistance in the form of a 10-year forgivable loan, allowing them to make the necessary repairs without worrying about immediate repayment.
