The Indiana Homeowner Assistance Fund (IHAF) is a program that provides financial support to eligible Hoosiers who have experienced hardship due to income loss, particularly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The IHAF is administered by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), which has disbursed over $40 million in assistance to more than 3,500 eligible applicants to date. The program offers aid to homeowners who meet certain criteria, including owning only one mortgaged home, having a primary residence, and meeting certain income requirements.

The IHAF provides homeowners with assistance in paying their property taxes, which can be a significant burden for those who have experienced financial difficulties. Homeowners who anticipate having difficulties paying their property taxes, or who already have delinquent property taxes, are encouraged to visit www.877gethope.org for more information and to start an application. Through this program, homeowners can receive guidance and support from housing counselors who can provide advice and information on their options.

Ohio mortgage programs may be able to save you hundreds every month. A new 2024 mortgage may be able to give relief to homeowners. Unfortunately, most Americans will not receive their mortgage benefits because they are not aware of some of these programs. You do not need to pay anything to check how much you could get.

To be eligible for assistance, homeowners must meet the following requirements: They must have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and experienced a financial hardship on or after January 21, 2020; they must own only one mortgaged home, which must be their primary residence; they must have an income equal to or less than 150% of the Area Median Income adjusted for household size, or 100% of the National Median Income, whichever is greater; and they must live in Indiana.

The IHAF provides much-needed support to homeowners who have experienced financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By offering financial assistance and connecting homeowners with housing counselors who can provide guidance and support, the IHAF is helping to alleviate the burden of property taxes and other housing-related expenses for eligible homeowners in Indiana. If you are a homeowner in Indiana who has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and is experiencing financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance through the Indiana Homeowner Assistance Fund.
