Need Assistance? Apply for Homeowner Aid Now!

Are you a tribal member and homeowner facing challenges in meeting your mortgage, utility, or home-heating fuel expenses due to the impact of COVID-19? Now is the opportune moment to assess your eligibility and submit an application for assistance through the Interior Regional Housing Authority (IRHA) Homeowner Assistance program.

What is IRHA Homeowner Assistance?
This program is federally funded by the U.S. Treasury under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. It is specifically designed to provide support to homeowners, helping them steer clear of mortgage delinquencies, foreclosures, and potential loss of essential utilities. Additionally, assistance is available for past-due property taxes and home-heating fuel expenses. IRHA, along with its partners, will directly distribute approved payments to mortgage servicers, utility companies, and vendors.

Am I Eligible?
To be eligible, you must meet the following basic requirements:

  1. Be a homeowner seeking aid for your primary residence.
  2. Enrolled tribal members residing in regions with IRHA as their Tribally Designated Housing Entity are eligible to apply.
  3. Demonstrate tribal enrollment.
  4. Satisfy minimum federal and IRHA requirements:
  • Experience a coronavirus-related financial hardship after Jan. 21, 2020.
  • Not exceed the maximum household income specified by the U.S. Treasury.
  • Have at least one person in the household directly or indirectly affected by COVID-19.
