Austin Energy Raises Home Solar Rebates to $4,000
Austin Energy has increased its residential solar rebate. Starting July 1, eligible homeowners who install a qualifying solar photovoltaic system can receive a $4,000 rebate.
The rebate was previously $2,500. The new amount is a 60 percent increase.
Who can apply?
The rebate is for Austin Energy residential customers who install a solar photovoltaic system larger than 3 kilowatts.
The program is designed for homeowners who want to add rooftop solar and lower long-term electric costs.
What does the rebate cover?
The rebate helps reduce the cost of installing a home solar system. Austin Energy says the incentive is in addition to the utility’s Value of Solar bill credit for solar generation.
When is it available?
The higher rebate started July 1, 2026. The article does not list an end date, so customers should confirm availability before signing a solar contract.
How to apply
Homeowners should review Austin Energy’s current solar program rules and work with a qualified solar installer. Before installation, confirm that the system size and installer meet Austin Energy requirements so the project can qualify for the rebate.
