The City of Bowling Green, Ohio is offering financial help to homeowners who need to make important repairs to keep their homes safe and livable. Applications are open now for the Home Repair Program.

What Does the Program Offer?

Bowling Green provides two types of help:

  • Grants: Money you don't have to pay back
  • Forgivable loans: Loans that may be forgiven over time

Which type you get depends on your income and situation.

What Repairs Can You Get Help With?

The program helps pay for repairs that are necessary to keep your home safe and comfortable:

  • Roofing repairs or replacement
  • Heating system fixes
  • Cooling system repairs
  • Electrical work
  • Plumbing repairs
  • Accessibility improvements (like ramps or wider doorways)
  • Other necessary safety repairs

Who Qualifies?

To qualify for this program, your household income must be below certain limits. These limits depend on how many people live in your home:

  • 1 person: $53,100 per year
  • 2 people: $60,700 per year
  • 3 people: $68,300 per year
  • 4 people: $75,850 per year
  • 5 people: $81,950 per year

These income limits include all money earned by everyone in your household before taxes.

How the Application Process Works

The program works on a first-come, first-served basis. This means:

  • Funding is limited
  • Applications are processed in the order they're received
  • You'll be placed on a waiting list
  • Assistance is provided based on when you applied

How to Apply

There are three ways to apply for the Bowling Green Home Repair Program:

1. Apply Online: Visit the City of Bowling Green application portal

2. Call: 419-354-6203

3. Email: cd@bgohio.gov
