Bradford County, Pennsylvania runs a CDBG/Housing Rehabilitation Program that provides financial help to eligible homeowners for needed home repairs.

How much help is available?

The county says eligible households may qualify for housing rehabilitation grants of up to $20,000 per household.

What repairs can be covered?

The official county page says grants can be used to bring homes up to code, address major systems such as roofing, septic, and water, test for and remove lead paint or radon, and remove or replace accessibility barriers such as widening doorways or installing ramps.

Who may qualify?

  • Bradford County residents who are income-eligible.
  • Owner-occupants whose name appears on the deed or title.
  • Homeowners who retain homeowners insurance and have property taxes paid to date.

How to apply

Applications are open for placement on the county waitlist. When funding is available, residents on the list are served on a first-come, first-served basis. The current application and program guidebook are posted on Bradford County’s Grants page, and questions go through the county grants administrator.
