California Disaster Survivors Can Get Up to $100,000 in Mortgage Help Through CalAssist

CalAssist expanded who can apply
California homeowners whose homes were badly damaged by a fire, storm, or earthquake may qualify for mortgage help through the CalAssist Mortgage Fund.
The program can pay up to 12 months of mortgage payments, with a maximum of $100,000 per household. This help does not need to be paid back.
Who may qualify
- You own the home and it was severely damaged or left unlivable by an eligible disaster.
- The disaster happened between January 2023 and early 2025.
- You meet updated county income limits listed by the program.
How to apply
- Apply for free at calassistmortgagefund.org.
- Check the required documents and eligibility list before you submit.
Deadline or window
The program is open now, but funds are limited. State officials said they can still help about 3,200 more households before funding runs out.
