California homeowners can get $5,000 to $15,000 to rebuild with electric systems
If your home was damaged or destroyed in a natural disaster, California has a program that can help. The program is called RISE (Rebuilding Incentives for Sustainable Electric Homes). It pays property owners to install all-electric systems while rebuilding.
How much money you can get
- $5,000 to $15,000 per home
- Paid by check after construction is complete
- Program says payment usually arrives in 2 to 3 months
Who can apply
- You are a California homeowner or builder rebuilding a home after a disaster
- Your home plans were approved after Nov. 4, 2021
- The home was lost or damaged in a disaster that happened in 2017 or later
- You are served by one of the eligible California utility companies
What upgrades are required
You must rebuild with all-electric equipment, such as:
- Induction range or cooktop with electric oven
- Electric clothes dryer
- Electric water heater
- Electric heating system

- Submit your project details and utility information
- Finish construction with required electric equipment
- Request your incentive payment
