Cobb County GA: Get Up to $15,000 for Septic System Repairs
Low-income homeowners in Cobb County, Georgia can get help paying for septic tank pumping and repairs. The county will pay up to $500 for pumping and up to $15,000 for major repairs.
What is the Program?
Cobb & Douglas Public Health runs this program to help families maintain their septic systems. A septic system handles your home's wastewater if you're not connected to city sewer lines.
Why is This Important?
Septic tanks need pumping every 3-5 years. Without regular care, they can overflow and cause expensive problems. This can create health risks for your family and neighbors.
How Much Help Can You Get?
- $500 for septic tank pumping (based on actual cost)
- Up to $15,000 for repairs or connecting to city sewer
The county pays the certified service provider directly. You don't pay upfront and wait for reimbursement.
Who Qualifies?
You must be a low-income homeowner who lives in Cobb County. "Low-income" means your household earns 300% or less of the Federal Poverty Level.
Example: A family of four earning $96,450 or less in 2025 would qualify.
Rental properties and commercial buildings cannot participate.
What Work is Covered?
- Regular septic tank pumping
- Septic system repairs
- Connection to local sewer lines (if repairs aren't possible)
All work must meet state and local requirements. Services must happen between March 26, 2025 and September 30, 2026, or until money runs out.
