Hawaii flood survivors now have until June 14 to apply for FEMA help
FEMA extended the application deadline for residents affected by the March 10-24, 2026 Kona Low flooding. People in the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaiʻi County, and Maui County now have until June 14, 2026, to apply for Individual Assistance.
What FEMA assistance may help with
- Temporary housing if the home is not safe to live in
- Basic repairs to make a primary home safe, sanitary, and functional
- Some disaster-related personal property losses
- Transportation and other necessary disaster expenses
- Certain medical, dental, or childcare costs tied to the disaster
Insurance comes first
If you have homeowners, renters, or flood insurance, file a claim as soon as possible. FEMA cannot pay for losses already covered by insurance. But if insurance does not cover everything, FEMA may still be able to help with eligible needs.
How to apply
- Apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov
- Use the FEMA mobile app
- Call 1-800-621-3362
Applicants should have their damaged home address, contact information, Social Security number or equivalent document, insurance information, and a short description of damage ready when possible.
