Homebuyers and Disaster-Hit Homeowners in 8 States Can Tap New FHLBank Atlanta Grant Funds

A large new homeownership funding pool just opened across the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta district.

How much money is on the table?

FHLBank Atlanta announced $60 million in total grant funding through multiple 2025 programs.

What can one household get?

• Up to $17,500 for first-time homebuyers for down payment, closing costs, or rehab help
• Up to $20,000 for community partners such as teachers, firefighters, health care workers, veterans, surviving spouses, and other first responders
• Up to $25,000 to rehabilitate an owner-occupied home in a declared disaster area
• Up to $15,000 for eligible workforce housing borrowers for down payment and closing costs

Where is it available?

The home must be the borrower’s primary residence and be in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.

Who applies?

Homeowners and buyers do not apply straight to FHLBank Atlanta. The money is distributed through member financial institutions in the district, and funding is first come, first served.

• Contact a participating member bank or credit union in the FHLBank Atlanta district
• Ask specifically about the 2025 Homeownership Set-aside Program or Workforce Housing Plus+
