Guilford County Homeowners Can Get Help With Property Tax Increases
Guilford County, North Carolina is launching a new Low Income Homeowner Assistance Grant to help qualifying homeowners with higher property tax bills.
The program opens first for homeowners who are age 65 or older on July 15, 2026. It opens to all other eligible homeowners on August 16, 2026.
How much money is available?
The grant amount is based on the difference between the Guilford County property taxes the homeowner paid in tax year 2021 and tax year 2025.
That means the exact dollar amount will depend on the homeowner's tax bill. The county will calculate the grant after reviewing the application.
