Hillsborough County Hurricane Repair Program: Up to $350,000 for Rebuilding

Hillsborough County is opening hurricane repair and rebuilding help on May 1

Hillsborough County, Florida, opened a call center for Rebuilding for Tomorrow, a disaster recovery program for residents affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Applications are scheduled to open on May 1, 2026.

How much help may be available

  • Up to $350,000 to replace or rebuild storm-damaged housing
  • $10,000 to $50,000 for eligible reimbursement costs for permitted work already completed
  • Up to $150,000 for repairs not covered by other programs

Who may qualify

The program is for homeowners in Hillsborough County, including residents of Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Plant City. Residents may qualify if they earn up to 120% of Area Median Income. Priority is given to households earning 80% of Area Median Income or less.

How to get help before applying

The county call center is open at (813) 540-7767. Before May, hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In May, hours expand to weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Residents can also use RebuildingForTomorrow.HCFL.gov and an in-person assistance center once applications open.
