Louisiana Homeowners Can Get Up to $4,000 for Sewer System Repairs
Some Louisiana homeowners can now get help paying for home sewer system work.
The program offers reimbursement for pump-outs, repairs, or replacement of failing home sewerage systems. It is for eligible homeowners in parts of Ascension, Assumption, Lafourche, and Terrebonne parishes who are not connected to a public sewer system.
How Much Money Is Available?
Eligible disadvantaged homeowners can receive up to $4,000.
Other eligible homeowners can receive up to $2,000.
Pump-out costs may also qualify for reimbursement.
Who May Qualify?
You may qualify if you own a home in an eligible area along Bayou Lafourche, Bayou Folse, or Bayou Terrebonne and your home uses a private sewer system.
The program is meant to lower repair costs for homeowners while helping protect nearby bayous and communities.
How to Apply
Homeowners can visit SCPDC.org/programs or call 985-851-2900 for program details.
Participants must allow SCPDC to complete a free on-site inspection. If repairs are needed, the program can refer the homeowner to a licensed contractor. A final inspection is required before reimbursement is issued.
Deadline
Funding is limited. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the money runs out.
