Louisiana Homeowners Can Get Up to $10,000 for Fortified Roof Upgrades

June 18, 2026

Louisiana homeowners have a short window to apply for help with roof upgrades. The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program is taking lottery registrations until 5 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026.

This round will award 3,000 grants of up to $10,000. The money helps homeowners replace or upgrade a roof so it meets FORTIFIED roof standards.

What the Grant Pays For

The grant helps pay for a stronger roof that can better handle storms. A FORTIFIED roof may include stronger shingles, sealed roof decking, and stronger roof edges that help keep wind and rain out.

Who Can Apply?

Homeowners must live in an eligible Louisiana parish. The home must be the owner’s primary home, and the homeowner must have a homestead exemption and wind insurance coverage.

Newly built homes, mobile homes, and condominiums do not qualify for this round.

How to Apply

Homeowners must register through the Louisiana Fortify Homes Program before the deadline. After registration closes, applicants are placed into a lottery. Winners are picked at random.

If you registered before, you still need to register again for this round.

Important Deadline

The deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2026. Do not wait until the last minute, because missing the deadline means missing this grant round.
