Louisiana Homeowners Affected by Tropical Storm Arthur Can Apply for FEMA Help

Grants for Homeowners
July 8, 2026

Homeowners and renters in four Louisiana parishes can apply for FEMA assistance for serious needs, basic home repairs, displacement, personal property loss, and other storm-related costs.

What FEMA may cover

FEMA assistance is available for eligible homeowners and renters with damage from Tropical Storm Arthur on June 17-18, 2026. Help may include serious needs, displacement, basic home repairs, personal property loss, and other disaster-caused needs.

FEMA cannot pay for losses already covered by insurance. If insurance does not cover all damage, applicants may still qualify for federal help.

Who can apply

The current declaration covers Avoyelles, St. Landry, St. Tammany, and Terrebonne parishes. More areas may be added later if the state requests them and damage reviews support it.

Application window

Applications are open now under disaster declaration DR-4927-LA. FEMA did not list a deadline in the July 6 release.
