Niagara County, New York: Get Up to $20,000 for Home Repairs — Apply by May 29
Homeowners in the City of Lockport and the City of North Tonawanda can now apply for help with major home repairs through Niagara County's new Home Improvement Program.
How much money is available?
The program offers up to $20,000 per home. It is a reimbursement grant, which means you pay for approved work first and get paid back after the work is finished.
Who can apply?
- You must own and live in the home.
- Your home must be in Lockport or North Tonawanda.
- Your household income must be at or below 120% of area median income. For a family of four, that is about $120,000 in Niagara County.
- Rental properties do not qualify.
What repairs are covered?
- Roof and gutter replacement
- Chimney repair with roof replacement
- Window replacement
- Furnace replacement
- Air conditioning replacement
- Electrical service upgrades
How to apply
Download the application packet, review the program rules, and submit all required documents through the Niagara Orleans Regional Land Improvement Corporation program page.
Deadline
Applications must be received by Friday, May 29, 2026. The county says funding is limited and complete applications will be reviewed in the order they are received.
What homeowners should know before applying
This is not instant cash. You need to be ready to cover the approved project cost up front and wait for reimbursement after the work is complete. If that works for your budget, this could be a strong option for needed repairs.
