Oklahoma Homeowners Can Apply for $10,000 Storm Protection Roof Grants

GFH Editorial Team
July 11, 2026

What Is Available

The Oklahoma Insurance Department is opening another round of Strengthen Oklahoma Homes grants.

Eligible homeowners can receive up to $10,000 to upgrade their roof to the FORTIFIED Roof High Wind and Hail standard.

Who Can Apply

Homeowners must have a current homestead exemption on file with their county assessor.

The program is for Oklahoma homeowners who want to make their homes stronger before severe weather hits.

Why It Matters

The roof upgrades use stronger installation methods than normal building code rules.

A stronger roof may help reduce storm damage and may also help homeowners qualify for insurance premium discounts.

How To Apply

Applications open Monday, July 13, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Central Time.

Grants are awarded first come, first served while funding lasts. Homeowners should review the rules at oid.ok.gov/okready before the application window opens.
