Oklahoma homeowners may be able to use the Strengthen Oklahoma Homes program to help pay for storm-resilient roof upgrades.

The Oklahoma Insurance Department says homeowners can access grants of up to $10,000 to strengthen homes and lower insurance costs through FORTIFIED construction standards.

What the grant supports

The program is designed to help homeowners complete certified construction projects that meet Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety FORTIFIED standards, especially roof upgrades that can better withstand severe weather.

Who can apply?

The program is for Oklahoma residential property owners. Prior program materials focused on owner-occupied, single-family primary residences, with application phases expanding toward a statewide 2026 launch.

How to apply

Homeowners should review current Strengthen Oklahoma Homes application phases and eligibility through the Oklahoma Insurance Department before starting work.
