  • Some upgrades require a home energy assessment.
  • For some rebates, homeowners must complete at least two eligible upgrades.

How much money is available?

  • $600 for a home energy assessment.
  • $100 per new window or door.
  • Up to $8,900 for insulation.
  • Up to $250 for air sealing.
  • $75 for a smart thermostat.
  • $500 for a heat pump water heater.
  • Up to $7,500 for a cold climate air source heat pump.

How to apply

Applications are available through the official Home Renovation Savings Program website. The province says approved rebates are usually paid within 30 to 60 days.

Deadline or window

The program has launched and applications are open now. Homeowners should apply before starting work when program rules require pre-approval or a home energy assessment.

Before hiring a contractor, confirm that the upgrade, product, and installer meet the program rules.
