Palm Coast Homeowners Can Get Up to $80,000 for Home Repairs

Palm Coast, Florida approved new federal housing assistance funds that can help low- and moderate-income residents repair homes or buy a first home.

The money comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through Community Development Block Grant funding.

How much help is available?

The city approved $299,606 for owner-occupied home rehabilitation.

Eligible homeowners may receive up to $80,000 for necessary repairs. The city said many awards are expected to be between $40,000 and $65,000.

Palm Coast also approved $50,000 for its first-time homebuyer program.

Who may qualify?

Applicants must meet HUD low- to moderate-income rules. The city listed these assistance levels for eligible households:

• Households at or below 30% of area median income may receive up to $35,000
• Households at or below 50% of area median income may receive up to $25,000
• Households at or below 80% of area median income may receive up to $10,000

For the rehabilitation program, applicants must be eligible Palm Coast homeowners and live in the home that needs repairs.

What repairs may be covered?

The program is for necessary repairs that help residents stay in safe, stable housing. Homeowners should contact the City of Palm Coast housing or community development office to confirm eligible repairs before applying.

How to apply

Palm Coast will distribute the funds under its 2025-2029 Consolidated Action Plan. The city said only about three to 10 households may receive assistance each year, so eligible homeowners should ask about application steps as soon as possible.
