While federal stimulus checks may not be on the horizon, some states are still providing financial relief through payments or rebates in 2023.

Colorado: Residents who filed their taxes by the Oct. 17, 2022 deadline will receive a $750 rebate ($1,500 for joint filers) by Jan. 31. Those who obtained extensions last year will receive their checks by late January. Check the Department of Revenue PTC Rebate page for status updates.

Idaho: The state is sending out payments to residents who filed taxes in 2020 and 2021, equal to 10% of their tax return or $300 (whichever is greater). Joint filers can receive up to $600. Payments will continue until March 2023, with 800,000 rebates totaling up to $500 million expected.

New Jersey: Homeowners with incomes up to $150,000 will receive a $1,500 tax rebate, while those with incomes between $150,000 and $250,000 get $1,000. Renters earning up to $150,000 can receive a $450 rebate. Apply by the Jan. 31 deadline to receive payments in the first months of 2023.

New Mexico: Legislation is underway to provide additional relief checks to New Mexicans, offering financial support amidst rising prices.

South Carolina: Approved rebate checks worth up to $800 have been sent out. Those who filed their taxes before Oct. 17, 2022, should have received their checks, while others who filed by Feb. 15 can expect their money in March 2023.

Delaware: The Relief Rebate deadline was Dec. 15, 2022. Eligible individuals aged 18 and older who filed income taxes in 2021 could receive a one-time payment of $300. Checks are expected in 2023 for late applicants.

Pennsylvania: The state's senior assistance program offers property tax or rent refunds, with a maximum standard rebate of $650 (up to $975 for some). The application deadline is June 30, 2023.

California: The Middle-Class Tax Refund program initiated stimulus payments up to $1,050 in late 2022. By mid-January, around 18 million payments were sent via direct deposit and debit cards.
