
Pinellas County FL: $813 Million Available for Hurricane Recovery
Pinellas County homeowners and renters can now apply for millions of dollars in hurricane recovery help.
The county received $813,783,000 — the largest federal storm recovery grant ever awarded to a local government in Florida. The money helps people affected by Hurricanes Helene, Milton, and Idalia.
Applications are open NOW at recover.pinellas.gov.
Five programs to choose from:
1. Homeowner Rehabilitation/Reconstruction
Get funding to repair, rebuild, or replace your hurricane-damaged home. This covers both traditional homes and mobile homes. You must have lived in the home during the hurricane(s) and meet income requirements.
2. Homeowner Reimbursement
Already fixed your home? Get reimbursed for code-compliant repairs you've already completed. Income requirements apply.
3. Local Landlord Program
Landlords can get money to repair or rebuild rental properties (up to 5 units total). In exchange, you must rent to income-qualified tenants for 5 years at an affordable rate.
4. Homebuyer Assistance
Need help buying a safe home outside flood zones? This program can cover down payment, closing costs, or even reduce your mortgage rate. Income requirements apply.
5. Disaster Relief Reimbursement
Get reimbursed for up to 6 months of documented disaster-related expenses like rent, mortgage payments, or utilities.
Who qualifies?
Most programs serve families making up to 120% of Area Median Income:
- 1 person: up to $87,600/year
- 2 people: up to $100,080/year
- 3 people: up to $112,680/year
- 4 people: up to $125,160/year
The Disaster Relief Reimbursement program serves families at 80% AMI:
- 1 person: up to $58,450/year
- 2 people: up to $66,800/year
- 3 people: up to $75,150/year
- 4 people: up to $83,450/year
