Roselle Park Homeowners Can Get Up to $25,000 for Home Repairs
Income-qualified homeowners in Roselle Park, New Jersey may be able to get help paying for major home repairs through the borough's Home Improvement Program.
The program provides up to $25,000 for eligible home repairs. Roselle Park says the program is funded through the Affordable Housing Trust Fund and is part of the borough's affordable housing plan.
Who can qualify?
The program is available for owner-occupied and renter-occupied housing units, but occupants must meet the regional income limits set by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency.
Eligible properties must be used as a primary residence. The home must also be substandard or need major infrastructure repair.
What help is available?
Funding is structured as a no-interest, 10-year forgivable loan with no monthly payments. The loan is fully forgiven after 10 years if the owner follows program rules, including maintaining title, insurance, and primary residency.
What repairs can be covered?
Eligible repairs may include heating systems, electrical systems, plumbing system components, roof replacement or repair, weatherization, foundation work, and structural repairs.
How to apply
The borough's administrative agent, Community Grants, Planning & Housing LLC, manages the program. Applicants are processed on a strict first-come, first-served basis until funding limits are reached.
