Seymour Indiana Homeowner Grants Still Available Through June

Jeremy Flint
February 9, 2026

The city of Seymour, Indiana is still accepting applications for owner-occupied housing rehabilitation grants. The program helps low and moderate-income homeowners make needed repairs, and applications are open through June 2026.

What Is the Program?

Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation grants give money directly to homeowners so they can fix problems with their homes. The city received this funding in December 2024 and plans to help 10 more homeowners this year.

What Repairs Are Covered?

The grant can pay for many types of home improvements, including:

  • Roof replacements
  • ADA accessibility improvements (like ramps or wider doorways)
  • Heating and cooling system repairs or replacements
  • Lighting and electrical upgrades
  • Water heater replacements

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for these grants, you must:

  • Own your home and live in it
  • Be a low or moderate-income homeowner
  • Have your home on a permanent foundation
  • Live in Seymour, Indiana

The program uses income guidelines to determine if you qualify. Each family's income is checked against the area's average income levels.

How Do I Apply?

You can apply online right now. The application process is simple:

  1. Go to surveymonkey.com/r/SeymourOOR
  2. Fill out the application form
  3. Submit your information
  4. The city will review your application and contact you

When Does the Program End?

The program runs through June 2026. That means you still have time to apply, but don't wait too long. The city wants to help 10 more homeowners before the program ends.

Where Does the Money Come From?

The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through Community Development Block Grants. The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs manages the program for the state.

Why Apply Now?

This is a great opportunity to get help with repairs you've been putting off. Whether you need a new roof, better heating, or accessibility improvements, this grant can help you make your home safer and more comfortable.

Since the program ends in June 2026, applying soon gives you the best chance of getting approved and having the work done while funding is still available.
