Christopher Charles
June 18, 2026

Sonoma Clean Power customers can now get more money back for installing a heat pump water heater.

Starting June 1, 2026, eligible customers can get up to $2,500 back. This larger rebate is available through March 1, 2027.

How Much Money Is Available?

The standard rebate is up to $2,500 for a qualifying heat pump water heater.

Customers enrolled in CARE or FERA bill discount programs may qualify for a larger income-based rebate. Sonoma Clean Power says those customers can receive up to 50% of the remaining project cost after other rebates, up to $10,000.

Who Can Apply?

The installation address must be a Sonoma Clean Power account. The water heater must meet the program’s performance rules, and customers must provide required documents.

What Documents Are Needed?

  • A paid invoice
  • A final permit
  • A photo of the equipment nameplate
  • Proof the project meets program rules

How to Apply

Customers can submit a rebate application through Sonoma Clean Power. Applications must be submitted no more than 90 days after project completion.
